Carriacou airline - or the best to fit
Point Salines International Airport, airline code GND, is at the south-western tip of the island. The runway is impressively long, and was one of the causes of the dispute between the Grenadian Government and the USA in the invasion in 1983. Inside the Arrivals Hall there is a tourist information booth, an exchange bureau, a nurse's office and washrooms with handicap facilities. Trolleys and porters are also available. Porters (with red caps) expect EC$1 per bag. Outside there are telephones, an ATM, Convenience Corner Internet Cafe, a giftshop, newsagent and a bar/rum shop and 'Bits & Bites' offering hot and cold snacks. Three car hire companies have offices there, including Y&R Car Rentals. British Airways, BWIA, Virgin Atlantic, US Airways and SVG Airways also have offices at the airport. On the upper level you can see the planes land and take off from the reasonably priced Liftoff Restaurant. Washrooms are also located this level. You will also find an executive lounge for First and Club Class passengers, a VIP room and a reception room for special tour groups. |
